Application
CMC 5080 is a liquid low pH membrane cleaner, specifically developed to remove metal containing deposits and secondary inorganic scale, metal Oxides/Hydroxides
Great Value benefits
The main product features are:
- Liquid product, simple to handle
- Blend of safe organic acids
- Dilutes quickly in water, reducing cleaning time
- Superior sequestering capacity
- Compatible with most leading membranes
- Biodegradable
- Reconditioning of your membrane system
Recommended Use Directions
- Always follow the membrane manufacturer’s recommendations for pH, cleaning temperature and contact time.
- The typical dilution ratio for CMC 5080 membrane cleaner is a 1- 10% range but never exceed membrane pH limitations, recommended PH 4.
- Cleaning instructions are outlined in the cleaning procedures. All feeding equipment used to handle this product should be constructed of stainless steel, PP, PVC or PTFE.
Cleaning Procedure
Listed below, some standard cleaning procedures.
- Follow the membrane manufacturers’ recommended guidelines for pH, temperature and contact time.
- Flush with permeate for 5-10 minutes to remove any service concentrate and feedwater foulants;
- Prepare cleaning solution: Soft acid cleaning : 1-5% CMC 5080. Adjust pH gradually with Ammonia if necessary;
- Circulate about 20 minutes at 30-35ºC or 30 minutes at 20-25ºC;
- Soak of 1-2 hours for light scale. Extend soak time for highly scaled systems. Elements should be soaked individually outside of the pressure vessel in a vertical position. Check pH and adjust as required, or replace cleaning solution.
- Drain the cleaning solution to disposal tank;
- Flush with permeate for 5-10 minutes, make sure all chemicals are flushed out;
- Restart the RO-production and reject the permeate for process until the necessary quality is reached. Measure after 1 hour the operating parameters to evaluate cleaning efficiency.
